IPTV terminology explained

IPTV apps may use different names for the same account details. Understanding these terms helps you fill in the right fields during setup.

Link / M3U playlist URL

This is your account’s playlist address. Clicking it in a browser usually does not start playback; add it to a compatible IPTV player instead.

http://dns.com:8080/get.php?username=uuuuu&password=ppppp&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

URL

In the example, the server URL is http://dns.com:8080. Apps using Xtream Codes may label it Server URL or Portal URL.

Username and password

In the example link, the value after username= (uuuuu) is the username, and the value after password= (ppppp) is the password. Preserve uppercase and lowercase letters and avoid extra spaces.

VOD

Short for Video on Demand. Apps use this term for an on-demand library of films and series.

MAC address

A hardware address identifying a network interface. Wi-Fi and Ethernet interfaces may have different MAC addresses. In MAC-based apps, use the address displayed for the correct interface.
